The ART In Business
Enhancing Creativity for Breakthrough Results SM

Using artistic expression as a means of advancing innovation, strategic thinking
and creative problem solving in organizations

What’s This About?

It is not a secret that creativity is an essential ingredient for success in any organization, but what is less known is how to exercise our creative ability. How do we increase our capacity to step out of the box and into a greater vision?

Chuck Ceraso, artist/teacher and Renelle Darr, founder of InSight Coaching & Consulting, have teamed together to create an unconventional program addressing these very issues.  This program combines 35 years of artistic and business experience into one.

What’s The Point?

Learn to exercise your full creative capacity to enhance leadership results.

Use painting as a medium to access that part of us where insight and innovation originate.

Understand techniques for going beyond habitual thoughts and assumptions.

Develop skills that help you access and use intuition strategically.

What’s The Format?

We offer a 1-day program that includes the completing of four painting exercises, each designed to move one through a specific aspect that blocks creative thinking and action. Each is followed by a discussion of the insights gained and how they apply to organizational problems.

We also offer a 3-day program for a much deeper immersion into the creative process and a more transformational experience.

How Does It Work?

The art of leadership requires the same skills as the art of painting: ability in rational, emotional and creative intelligence. Culturally we are trained almost exclusively in rational intelligence and hardly at all in the other two. Consequently, two thirds of our skills remain mostly dormant. The cost of this is enormous both at the personal level and in business.

Rational intelligence is important at the conceptual level, understanding leadership principles is essential for effectiveness. Equally essential is emotional intelligence, the ability to recognize and manage emotional states, both our own and others’ and the ability to experience insight and inspiration, creative intelligence.

The painting exercises in this workshop have been developed and tested over the past twelve years to enhance skill in the latter two. They train the participant to shift from a state that is primarily absorbed in thought to a state that is primarily aware and open with a quiet mind. This is the state that fosters insight and inspiration.

These exercises can be used repeatedly to further enhance this state of awareness and therefore to develop greater and greater skill in emotional and creative intelligence. And, they’re amazingly fun!

About These Paintings

People who had little or no previous experience with painting did all of the paintings on this page.
They learned through the exercises of this workshop how to fearlessly and spontaneously explore the process of painting. In so doing, they produced these powerful images.
Painting teaches us how to access the creative state, which is useful for problem solving not only in painting but also and especially, in the business arena.
