Plein Air Workshop in Italy! Chuck Ceraso May 8 - 21, 2012 <img src="http://www.chuckceraso.com/images/images/ITALY%20Ceraso%20Workshop%20florence5.jpg" /> 14 days total: 4 days in Rome, and 10 days in the Tuscan countryside outside Florence! Join us for the next adventure in Italy. We'll spend the first four days in Rome, taking in the monumental wonders and art in this spectacular city along the Tiber. Then on to our villa outside of Florence where the workshop will take place. On grounds of amazing beauty we'll paint the hills, poplars, olive trees and fields with five days of instruction, demonstrations and critique. There will also be about five free days for trips into Florence to see Michelangelo's David and the slaves at the Accademia as well as the Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens or the Opera Museum, to name just a few of the stunning possibilities of Florence. Trips to other cities will also be available during this time to visit Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa or even Pompeii. The band�s unique voice is shaped by unbridled imagination and diverse influences that include jazz, free improvisation, world music, and modern classical music. They collaborate with a facility and playfulness that is rare for an ensemble, giving their musical curiosity room to explode and yielding daring results. This grandest of events will introduce you to Art Tarot, Art Lande's version of the Tarot, with some different names, less mystical and more natural meaning, and terrific images of the 78 cards he and Michael Wojczuk have been working on for years. In addition to hosting this event at his studio, Chuck Ceraso brought his artistry and designer skills to the project by taking on the task of moving the artwork into the digital domain and designing the layout of each card, and Ted Ringer applied his editing mastery to the excellent booklet Art crafted, complete with descriptions and meanings of all the cards, how to interpret them, and various ways to utilize or consult the deck for a quick read, medium dose of clarity, or a deeper peering into what might be happening around you. This diverse evening will begin at 7:30PM with the contributors discussing the project, followed by actual readings with some accompanied by Art improvising at the piano. The artwork for the major cards, done by Michael, will be on hand (possibly for sale or auction or magical transportation to another realm). We're considering offering a painting workshop in the Cook Islands, just north of New Zealand. Interested? It'd be for two weeks (15 days) in January of 2012. Could be fun. We're also looking at somewhere closer for such a tropical delight, like the Carribbean for more like a week. Also in January of 2012. Information meeting for Italy Plein Air Workshop

May 16 to 29, 2011 14 days total:  7 days in beautiful Varenna, on Lake Como and 7 days in the Tuscan countryside outside of Florence! Join Chuck for plein air painting in any medium. The focus will be on letting go of fear and judgment and using color to depict light, form and atmosphere, and of course, on embracing the magic of the culture and rhythm. <big><big>Lake Como</big></big> Paint water, foliage, quaint street scenes, boats, the Alps and more. Beauty is everywhere you look! We'll arrive in Varenna by train from Milan and then take ferries to Bellagio and Menaggio on day excursions. We'll visit some galleries, eat breakfast near the water and stroll the waterfront to the best gelato place in town! On workshop days, which will total fice, we'll paint in the mornings and afternoons with Chuck's critiques in the late afternoon.
